The Super Tanker is a new concept which uses the new generation super single-wide tyre technology, which was only used in the Oil & Gas Industry before. A first in the Palm Oil Logistics.
SB Super Tankers are coupled to the top-of-the-line Scania 380 HP. This single-wide tyre concept has been approved for Malaysian roads and we have 15 Super Tankers already serving our customers currently with more in pipeline.
The Super Tanker concept allows higher payload per trip, which in turn gives better productivity and efficiency, the super tanker is actually quite easy to maneuver, and gives the driver better braking capabilities due to more number of axles as compared to the conventional tankers, contribute to better road safety. The super benefit is to our mother nature whereby less emission levels because less number of vehicles on the road needed for the same amount of payload.
Apart from looking to reduce costs per tonne mile, we also see a huge benefits to our customers who are always looking for ways to deliver their products fast in the most efficient way possible. This will reduce the number of tankers required to deliver their products, therefore reducing the man hours required during loading and unloading of palm oil with Super Tanker. Each Super Tanker has a payload weight of 40 m/t as compared to the conventional tankers which are in the range of 25 to 30 m/t.
The Super Single technology is the New Generation Single-wide tyre or super single tyre replacing the traditional dual tyres with one single-wide tyre and aluminum wheel. This technology can be applied to all tractor and trailer tyre positions except for the steer tyres. This technology saves fuel by reducing the weight of the tanker and rolling resistance of the tyres and wheels, thereby reducing load on the engine. There is a slight aerodynamic benefit to this technology as well. This technology has been in the US and the UK for more than a decade but it only hit our roads in 2007.
